Visit our website at: www.rclfoods.com RCL FOODS is seeking a Lab Analyst (6 Months) to join our RCL FOODS Division. The role will be based in Pretoria West and report to the QC Supervisor. RCL FOODS is looking for an individual who has strong work ethic and is able to interact on all levels of the organization. RCL FOODS entrusts the responsible individual to monitor the quality aspects of the product form raw materials testing, processing,packaging and shelf life tests. The role assist with new product development projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualifications Matric Duploma-Analytical Chemistry (preferable) Experience 1- 2 years experience Knowledge Chemical Analysis ISO 22000 Food Safety System SAP knowledge (adventageous) Skills Logical thiking Verbal and Written Communication Problem solving

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities Laboratory In-Process Quality Control tests Conduct chemical analysis for in process samples: before mixing, after mixing, after pasteurization and packaging. Tests performed are Temperature, pH, SH, Brix, Viscosity, Total solids and Sensory evaluation. Raw Material tests performed on DA 7250 NIR namely Moisture, Protein, Fat, Ash and Starch analysis. Particle Size Granulation Analysis CIP Tests Perform CIP concentration tests to determine the effectiveness of plant cleaning and the following chemicals: Caustic, Nitric acid and Oxi-acid Shelf Life Analysis Shelf-life analysis of Smooth and MNO to ensure product conforms with 12 weeks shelf-life. Report immediately to Quality Control Supervisor if any product does not meet quality and organoleptic tests at expected shelf-life period. New product development and QC projects product. Hygiene Inspections Perform hygiene inspections for factory departments namely raw materials, cooking, fermentation, pasteurizers, smooth packaging and NO1 cartons packaging post and during cleaning. Hygiene and GMP inspection of factory workers and environment focusing on cleanliness, neatness and PPE. Packaging Quality Control Checks Hourly monitoring of quality control during packaging of cartons. The following parameters to be checked as per specifications: Cartons weights, Top seals, bottom seals, Expiry codes, Production time, Machine number, Shrinkwrap, Barcode stickers, Dye test, Online product Temperature and Cartons printing. Temperature Control Daily temperature checks of Bottle and Carton chiller, Retention chiller and Lab fridge. Report immediately any temperature anomalies to QC Supervisor. Truck and Raw Material Inspection Inspect raw material trucks and stock on arrival and complete the checklists in place, liaise with suppliers on COA and COC requests. ISO 22000 Work according ISO 22000 requirements with regards to standard operating procedures, policies and record keeping.
