Our Talent Team is on the hunt for a Maintenance Supervisor for our Baking Division. The role will be based in Pietermaritzburg and will report into the Maintenance Manager. The role of the Maintenance Supervisor is to assist the Maintenance Manager to manage all aspects of the maintenance department, in relation to the plant and facility. This includes managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets and assisting in the design and installation of new systems.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualifications: Grade 12 Electrical / Mechanical Trade Tested Artisan
• Experience: Minimum 3 year’s hands on experience as a senior artisan, with some supervisory experience
• Previous experience using an ERP system
• Must have previous bakery experience

Duties & Responsibilities

• Administrative Duties
  • Complete maintenance schedule, work orders, job cards and shift reports
  • Checklist reviews and control machinery inspection findings list
  • Identify hazard machinery and non-conformance and put action plan in place to repair
  • Complete and issue weekly and monthly planned maintenance schedule
  • Submit daily/weekly breakdown report to Maintenance Manager with corrective action plan
• Maintenance Duties
  • Service equipment and machinery
  • Ensure maintenance schedule for the day is completed by the department
  • Execute planned maintenance on normal wear and tear parts and modifications
  • Strip machinery and conduct preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical and electrical components
  • Attend to breakdowns and make corrective repairs with follow up action plan
  • Install electrical connections for equipment/machinery or facility
  • Inspect plant and machinery and report findings and proposed action plan to Maintenance Manager
  • Adjust preventative maintenance plan according to business priorities
  • Oversee contractors, maintenance installations, machinery, equipment and electrical work
  • Assist Maintenance Manager with executing new project installations and machinery
  • Ensure monthly checklist is completed for facility maintenance, ensuring timeous resolution of problems
• People Management
  • Take disciplinary action when breach of procedure or company rules
  • Conduct formal performance reviews twice yearly for maintenance assistants
  • Ensure maintenance team has full productivity
  • On the job coaching of maintenance team
  • Delegate tasks to team in terms of plan and priority and follow up
• General
  • Ensure daily floor walks are conducted and preventative maintenance is identified and incorporated into the planned maintenance schedule
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations
  • Assist maintenance team when leave or absenteeism
  • On standby to assist Technicians
