We are currently looking for a Pastry Chef to join our team in Malawi. Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, cakes, and other baked goods.
• Ensure all pastry products are consistently produced to the highest quality standards.
• Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
• Monitor stock levels, ingredient quality, and production requirements.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Minimize waste and manage resources efficiently.
• Support the training and development of kitchen staff where required.
• Ensure all equipment is operated safely and maintained in good working condition.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong pastry, baking, and dessert preparation skills with knowledge of international pastry standards.
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and quality control procedures.
• Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills to meet production schedules.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality products consistently.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote camp environment.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 Baking or culinary qualification (advantageous)
• Minimum 2 - 3 years experience as a Baker in a similar environment
