Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor IT applications uptime and communicate accordingly in case of service interruption.
  • Assist the IT Applications support manager in Planning and reviewing the work plan for Applications Support team.
  • Implement system changes through automation, process change, management solutions and training.
  • Conduct diagnostic investigations of system errors and implement or recommend solutions or methodologies for resolution. Consult with vendors regarding system functionality.
  • Creating awareness among users and support staff from branches on utilization of the IT applications.
  • Develops business continuance scenarios, contingency and disaster recovery plans for central and distributed systems to maintain operations during downtime and/or major disasters. Identifies and makes recommendations regarding critical points of failure. Implements policies and procedures for business continuance and disaster recovery plans.
  • Responsible for researching, developing, and implementing testing methods and procedures. Ensures that products meet the highest quality standards. Monitors and reports on defects.
  • Attend to ECRM and ITSM incidents, Requests, and changes.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing and monitoring the bank’s Application performance to ensure availability of the applications.
  • Analyzing business systems to determine effectiveness, identifying inadequacies, inefficiencies and problems.
  • Ensuring that effective liaison and communication is maintained with end-users, suppliers and management, such that problems can be minimized, and opportunities identified. This includes the operation of effective application change control. Attending interdepartmental meetings as subject matter expert.
  • Troubleshooting and providing first level support for these applications. This includes providing remedial support for all operational failures ensuring that initial resolutions are followed up with full corrective actions.
  • Providing guidance and coaching of Applications End users to deliver quality focused outcomes.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, computer Engineering or Related field. Required

Master's degree (Any related field) is an added Advantage

Professional Certification (Any IT or Digital Banking Related) Added Advantage

3 years minimum Experience required:

  • Operational Characteristics of a variety of computer platforms and operating systems.
  • Experience in Linux server Administrator.
  • Experience in IT projects and Business Analysis.
  • Experience in Banking Operations.
