We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith.<br /><br />Come join our 31,000&#43; staff working in nearly 100 countries and share the joy of transforming vulnerable children’s life stories!</p><p></p><p><u>Employee Contract Type:</u></p>Local - Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term)<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><u>Job Description:</u></p><p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES<br />% of time    Activity    End Results<br />40%    Operational activities are accomplished on regular basis    <br />    1.    Transportation of sewerage &amp; solid wastes from various communities and the indicated places with respect to the safety of the refugees<br />2.    Collect solid waste from different garbage collection points in the camp and transport them to the dumping site<br />3.    Facilitate the dislodging activity of latrines in different villages and quarters in the camp    Planned activities in the garbage collection and dislodging of latrines are accomplished in a simplified manner of transportation from the camp to the dumping site<br />40%    Maintaining vehicle safety, cleanliness and maintenance as required by fleet schedule    <br />    1.    To keep the vehicle safe and clean, and ensure it is serviced regularly according to schedule;<br />2.    Conduct major daily/ regular checks to ensure the vehicle is in a sound mechanical condition<br />3.    Fill logbooks and other vehicle-related forms<br />4.    Make fuel and service requests on time    •    Fleet &amp; vehicle safety and cleanliness maintained on a regular basis according to the field requirements<br />•    Good information recorded which led to good internal tracking system in fleet management<br />20%    Networking, Engagement and Collaboration    <br />    Commit to child protection policy, World Vision Rwanda profile and the code of conduct in refugee camps and neighboring communities.    Organizational goals &amp; core values of serving the children and poor communities achieved through partnership.</p><p>KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE<br />Required Professional Experience    The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:<br />•    Should have an advanced level certificate<br />•    Should have a category C driving permit, with experience in driving trucks with 10 Mt of capacity<br />•    Should have 3 years of experience in the same field<br />•    Knows local road rules and travel routes in Rwanda<br />•    Should be fluent in English, Knowledge of French is an added advantage and Kinyarwanda<br />•    Should be computer literate (Microsoft Word and Excel)<br />Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification    •    Should have an advanced-level certificate, preferably in mechanics or a related field<br />•    Should have a category C driving permit, with experience in driving trucks with 10 Mt of capacity<br />•    Must have proven analytical/problem-solving abilities.<br />•    Requires excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills.<br />•    Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. French is an added advantage<br />•    Identifies urgent and potentially difficult decisions and acts on them promptly; initiates and generates team- and department-wide activities.<br />•    Negotiate effectively by exploring a range of possibilities.<br />•    Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.<br />•    Attend and participate in daily devotions.<br />Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications    •    Relevant working experience in refugee setting.<br />•    Ability to implement the project for the improvement of WASH project and child protection.<br />•    Working with most vulnerable communities in emergency settings<br />•    Achieving quality results and service<br />•    Building collaborative relationships<br />•    Practicing accountability and integrity<br />•    Strong skills in networking with WASH, Child protection, UNHCR and Camp leaders stakeholders at camp.<br />•    Demonstrate problem-solving skills.<br />•    Ability to work under minimal supervision.<br />•    Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting.<br />•    Ability to comply with do no harm principles.<br />•    Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
