Managing Director Microfinance Institution FISA CO PLC Rubavu Rwanda

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Managing Director to lead our Microfinance Institution in Rubavu, Rwanda. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy, operations, and management of the institution, ensuring its growth, profitability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the overall strategy and business plan for the Microfinance Institution
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, including lending, deposit-taking, and other financial services
  • Manage a team of experienced professionals, including loan officers, accountants, and other support staff
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those related to anti-money laundering, know-your-customer, and risk management
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Analyze financial performance and make recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports
  • Ensure the institution's assets are properly managed and maintained
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in microfinance, banking, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in managing a microfinance institution or similar organization
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong integrity and ethics
  • Ability to travel frequently to various locations
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
